There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.

Prisoners are entirely at ease; they don’t hear a boss’s voice.
Great and small alike are there, and the slave is free of his master.
Everyone is there—
The prisoners together are at ease; they hear not the voice of the taskmaster.
And they sometime bound together without disquiet, have not heard the voice of the oppressor.
Even prisoners find relief there; they no longer hear their guards shouting at them.
Even prisoners can enjoy a time of peace. No guards are there to shout at them.
There the prisoners are at ease together. They no longer hear the voice of the slave driver.
There the prisoners are at ease together; they hear not the voice of the taskmaster.
There the prisoners are at ease together; they hear not the voice of the taskmaster.
In the grave there is rest for the ·captives [prisoners] who no longer hear the ·shout [L voice] of the ·slave driver [taskmaster].

Why wasn’t I stillborn and buried with all the babies who never saw light, Where the wicked no longer trouble anyone and bone-weary people get a long-deserved rest? Prisoners sleep undisturbed, never again to wake up to the bark of the guards. The small and the great are equals in that place, and slaves are free from their masters.
Captives will relax together; they do not hear the voice of the oppressor.
There the captives have no troubles at all. There they do not hear the shouting of the slave driver.
The captives are at ease together, and hear no overseer’s voice.
The prisoners are at ease together; They do not hear the voice of the taskmaster.

There the captives enjoy the solace of peace without having to cringe at the voice of their masters.
In the grave there is rest for the captives who no longer hear the shout of the slave driver.
There the prisoners relax together; they do not hear the voice of the oppressor.
Prisoners also enjoy peace there. They don’t hear a slave driver shouting at them anymore.
